SIFF Cinema
In early 2007, SIFF Cinema opened in the heart of Seattle Center’s emerging Theater District on Mercer Street at McCaw Hall. The 400–seat screening venue is open year-round, and is outfitted with the latest projection and sound technologies. SIFF Cinema welcomed more than 30,000 filmgoers in its first year.
SIFF Film Center
SIFF will soon fulfill its long-term goal of creating a permanent year-round home. The SIFF Film Center will help us fully achieve our mission of fostering a film community that is more informed, aware, and alive.
In the continuing redevelopment of the north end of Seattle Center, SIFF was invited to transform the Alki Room into a new space worthy of its extraordinary work. This new $2.5M facility is projected to open in 2009 and will include:
- An intimate 100-seat theater where SIFF can hold public screenings of smaller, more obscure films that otherwise would not be seen in Seattle.
- A venue for lectures and other educational programs, including a small class/screening room. This will offer opportunities for the public to hear directly from filmmakers, and for emerging artists to hone their skills with experienced veterans.
- A much-needed reference library that will hold archives of scripts, films, and more.
- Offices and additional workspaces to accommodate SIFF's growing needs.
